ACC has been a proud partner of the Care Workers Charity since June 2017. ACC and The Care Workers Charity share common values based around supporting the great people who live and work within the care sector who make a massive contribution to everyday lives.
There are nearly 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of Britain's largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in UK society.
“For Britain's care workers, early starts, long hours and mentally draining work are part and parcel of the job. As a result, it's all too easy for illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, to push them beyond their financial limits. The good people of the care sector make a massive contribution to our everyday lives. The Care Workers Charity is here to help current, former and retired workers on their rainy day”. - Care workers Charity
The Care Workers Charity have recruited a large number of champions within their service provider supporters club. Champions are the Care Workers Charity’s eyes and ears on the ground. They lead on fundraising in their local community, raising the profile of our cause, and sign post care workers experiencing hardship to our website.
As part of our partnership, the Care Workers Charity have become ACC members and are using ACC learning courses alongside their own authored materials, both delivered by ACC’s learning management system Bridge, to provide educational resources to support their champions in the field.
Two ACC staff members, Raj Kumar and Michael Broughton, recently (July) proved that the sky is no limit when supporting the care workers in our Industry, and took a Skydive to raise funds for the Care Workers Charity: https://twitter.com/CareFund/status/890237006319693824
